I took this from Hell's homepage:

Cited as a huge indirect influence, and as one of the true founding fathers of occult metal, the band formed in 1982 from the carcasses of UK metal bands RACE AGAINST TIME and PARALEX, whose ‘White Lightning’ EP was listed by Metallica as a favourite, and which was subsequently included on the Lars Ulrich, Geoff Barton ‘NWOBHM ’79 Revisited’ sampler album.

Despite over five years of constant touring, the band were cruelly overlooked by the ’80’s music press, who just didn’t get it. HELL were too different, too extreme, too musically intelligent and far too thought-provoking for all but the most enlightened to understand them. The final crushing blow came when their long-awaited 1986 album deal with Mausoleum collapsed as the label went bankrupt, followed by the tragic suicide of singer/guitarist, Dave Halliday in 1987. The remaining members drew a line in the sand and stopped playing overnight.

A teenage Andy Sneap was a permanent fixture on the front row of almost every show HELL played and was also taught to play guitar by Halliday. He then went on to form Sabbat and become a renowned metal producer. Upon meeting again, the remaining members of HELL – Kev Bower (guitar/keys), Tony Speakman (bass) and Tim Bowler (drums) talked with Andy about re-recording the old material to release in conjunction with the old demos. With Sneap replacing Halliday on guitar and David Bower on vocals, the band has recorded 10 HELL classics from the 80’s.

One hugely respected European journal has already described ‘Human Remains’ as one of the best things they have heard in the last 15 years and THE band to watch out for in 2011.

Like a venomous creature preserved in amber, HELL’s legacy becomes reborn – pure and untainted, cast forth screaming.

This sums the band up. I was not aware of that they formed already in 1982, when I heard this album. It hit me like a wall and I love listening to the album on HIGH volume and the songs are just crushing and so intelligent. Really good heavy metal just the way I like it. A new favorite band! Also the booklet and album cover are very nice and professional, all together making this a must-have-album.

Australia's Airbourne's 2nd album sounds very very much like their 1st from 2007. It's still a copy of AC/DC but not at all as good as AC/DC, but this album is at least a bit better than the last one. The songs are just better all through and there are some really good ones but also some that could have been much better with some more work made with them. Still, this IS kick-ass-rock'n'roll, so you might as well enjoy it!

1)Born to kill (7,5) Oozin', steamin' rock'n'roll but way too repetitive.

2)No way but the hard way (8,0) AC/DC-copy midtempo rocker that...rocks!

3)Blonde, bad and beautiful (6,5) Copy of the previous songs and deadly repetitive.

4)Raise the flag (8,5) Strong and intense rocker.

5)Bottom of the well (7,0)

6)White line fever (6,5) Just another song that sounds just like many of the others on the album.

7)It ain't over till it's over (7,5) Full tilt!

8)Steel town (5,5) Same same same...

9)Chewin' the fat (6,5)

10)Get busy livin' (6,5)

11)Armed and dangerous (6,0)

12)Back on the bottle (7,5)

Score: 6,88

This is the best Accept-album I have heard! I have followed their carreer since the middle of the 80's and respected them as a good live act with some good songs here and there on their albums but they have also made many mediocre songs. Their last album, the first with singer Mark Tornillo was quite good but I felt it could have been better, and that they have now done with this album wich I really enjoy listening to. At last hey have the power, the songs and the playing skills on one album!

1)Hung, drawn and quarted (7,5) Good and intense metal!

2)Stalingrad (8,0) Good and powerful midtempo song with a strong refrain.

3)Hellfire (8,5) Impressing for being Accept!

4)Flash to bang time (8,0) Superintense and great heavy metal.

5)Shadow soldiers (8,0)

6)Revolution (8,5)

7)Against the world (7,5)

8)Twist of fate (7,5)

9)The quick and the dead (8,5)

10)The galley (6,5) Unfortunately a not very good ending to a very good album. But the ballad-ending of the song is very nice.

The american metalpioneers from Kansas that have played their heavy metal in their pure style since the 80's return with a new album and the production and soundquality sucks as always. I don't get the point in releasing music that sounds this bad. There are some good songs here and there but the overall sound makes the album...not very good. It sounds like a poor demo. I like the cover though, it's just great and suits the heavy music on the album.

1)Jackhammer (5,0)

2)Into the maelström (5,5)

3)Playground of the damned (6,0)

As the title suggests, this is the 13th album from Megadeth. For this album, former and original Megadet-bassist Dave Ellefson was back in the band. He quit Megadeth in 2002 and and formed the band F5 which released one album. I have never been a big fan of Megadeth's music except for two very good albums in the 90's. The sound of the 2000's they have is very modern, heavy, technical and well produced. The songs are in-the-middle-of-the-road and no songs sticks out, it gets like a big mess and 13 songs is a few too many too keep the interest up. I won't listen to this album again even though it has some okey songs.

1)Sudden death (5,0)

2)Public enemy no.1 (6,0)

3)Whose life (is it anyway?) (7,0)

4)We the people (7,0)

5)Guns, drugs and money (6,0)

6)Never dead (5,0)

7)New world order (6,0)

8)Fast lane (7,0)

9)Black swan (6,5)

10)Wrecker (6,0)

11)Millenium of the blind (4,0)

12)Deadly nightshade (7,0)

The third album from this melodic hardrockband from USA. The album consists of pompous, melodic hardrock with big choruses and orchestral arrangements and operalike female singing. It is also influenced by nu-metal and goth rock. Too bad that these influences aren't developed to make good songs. They sound exactly the same and to listen to an whole album with this is just too much. After 3 songs I'm bored and the music goes in in one ear and out through the other. Amazingly the album reached nr.1 on the US Billboard-list. Just another sign of the americans bad taste in music.

1)What you want (7,0) Powerful and melodic short hit-song.

2)Made of stone (7,0) Okey but there's not much happening.

3)The change (6,0) Quite boring. Same slow pace all the time.

4)My heart is broken (5,0) Another one...

5)The other side (6,5) Heavier riff and more power in the vocals but same pace as all song so far.

6)Erase this (6,0)

7)Lost in paradise (5,5) A powerballad that just goes on and on.

8)Sick (6,5)

9)End of the dream (6,5)

10)Oceans (6,0) Same same same...

11)Never go back (6,0)

12)Swimming home (4,0) Cheesy ballad.

New Orleans doom-core-heroes return with the first album in 6 years. Are they getting old? Are their sound getting more melodic with age? No way, this album is full of aggression and attitude. The music reminds of Candlemass doom mixed with modern american metal and is heavy as hell. James Hetfield-like singing but rawer. The problem is that they manage to make one hour of metal that sounds exactly the same for 12 songs. Whats the point? With some interesting guitarplaying and some breaks here and there it could have been much better. I like the cover and logo, which suits the music. It's dark and it's evil.

Kirk Windstein is also guitarist in Down. He was born in England.

Pat Bruders also plays in Down and has played with Goathwhore 1997-2004.

1)Isolation (Desperation) (7,0) Doom fucking heavy metal!

2)Sever the wicked hand (6,0) First faster but turns into doom-state again, but not the best song I've heard.

3)Liquid sky and cold black earth (5,0) A rather boring, very slow and heavy tune that is too long.

4)Let me mourn (6,0) Cool riff but the rest is...not good enough.

5)The cemetery angels (5,5) First furiously fast but it gets boringly superslow after a while.

6)As I become one (6,0) A little better midtempo tune but there's just aint nothing happening. Only a boring bassbreak in the middle.

7)A farewell to misery (5,0) A dark piano-guitar-male choir 3-minute break.

8)Protectors of the shrine (6,5)

9)I only deal in truth (6,0)

10)Echo an eternity (4,0)

11)Cleans me, heal me (6,0)

12)Symbiosis (5,5) Nice coversong that suits Crowbar's music.

This is the 3rd album from this swedish sleazeband much inspired by the 80's hairbands Skidrow, Hanoi Rocks, Mötley Crüe etc. To this album they had a new singer, Simon Cruz wich makes a fantastic job an suits Crashdiets hardhitting hardrock perfect. After a good debut in 2005 they made a not as good album in 2007 but with this one they really establish themselfs as one of the best bands the genre right now.

1)442 (-) Intro.

2)Armageddon (7,5) Very well produced, heavy and powerful song.

3)So alive (8,0) This could have been a hit in 1985 for Mötley Crüe. Good singing, choir and song.

4)Generation wild (7,5) Good but I want to have more guitarsolos!

5)Rebel (7,5) Fast, heavy and crazy.

6)Save her (7,5) Not a ballad but something like that.

7)Down with the dust (9,0) A damn good rocker, fast and furious! Even with guitarsolos, but it's tooo short.

8)Native nature (8,5) Supercool intro that goes into a furious riffing and Mötley Crüe-like bridge, refrain etc.

9)Chemical (7,5)

10)Bound to fall (8,0) Really good mix of heavy riffing and melodic refrain and a nice break in the middle.

11)Beautiful pain (7,5)

Scored: 7,85
