As time has went on by I have learned to enjoy Slayer's hyperaggressive and fast thrash- and speed metal. Before I only listened to their slower, heavier songs. I had great expectations when I saw them live 2 years ago but it was just a very boring concert. Every song sounded the same and was played in the same tempo. That has been a problem for many years with Slayer. That is also a slight problem on this album but the songs here are of very good quality and variated and when I have listened many times to the album I have learnded to enjoy the single songs. A whole album can be too much.

This was the first time since 1990 that the four original members played together on an album. Dave Lombardo on drums were back after many years. The album reached nr. 23 in the UK, nr. 5 in USA, nr. 4 in Sweden, nr. 9 in Poland, nr. 2 in Germany and Finland, nr. 3 in Canada and nr. 9 in Austria among other good chartpositions.

Influental thrash-pioneers from Essen in the Ruhr industrial-area Kreator's debut-album which is the most brutal thrash-metal you'll ever hear, inspiring many to come death- and escpecially black metal-bands.

The band formed as Tyrant in 1982.

This is hyper-aggressive metal with an insane tempo and I never liked this when I was young in the 80's but now I can appreciate their music and what they have ment to the metal-society all over the world. Toooormentoooor!!

Another one of the most popular pop-artists of the 1980's here with his 2nd album wich included the superhit "The Riddle". The album peaked at nr. 5 in Norway, nr. 8 in UK and New Zeeland, nr. 11 in Sweden, nr. 12 in Germany and reached good positions in many other countires. The album, apart from the 80's style synthpop, however has very obvious jazzinfluences and is not very good if you want to hear 80's popmusic since the songs are very odd and not following "rules". Actually I think the songs are rather boring, but then again I'm not into jazz.

1)Don Quixote (6,0)

2)Know how (4,5)

3)You might (5,0)

4)Wild horses (5,0)

7)City of angels (4,0)

8)Roses (4,0)

9)Wide boy (6,0)

10)Save the whale (3,0)

Score: 5,05

Wishbone Ash's 4th (yes really!) album was a more calm and sensitive folk-like album than their rockier twin-guitar-laden previous albums. It has an Pink Floyd/Barclay James Harvest atmosphere mixed with some rockier songs. An album worth exploring since it has a lot of melody and feeling and since it was made in the 70's guarantees a kind of quality-stamp! A bit too soft for me even though there are some good melodies, singing, nice guitarplaying but foremost feeling!

1)So many things to say (7,5) Midtempo rock with raspy vocals.

2)Ballad of the Beacon (7,5) A very Barclay James Harvest-feel to this sweet melodic ballad with á capella-vocals and nice guitarplaying.

3)No easy road (7,0) Rock'n'roll with horns.

4)Everybody needs a friend (6,0) Sugarsweet ballad that's too cheesy.

5)Doctor (7,0) Just a plain rocker.

6)Sorrel (7,5) Beautiful low key melodic song.

7)Sing out the song (5,0) Very low key country-ish.

8)Rock'n'roll widow (7,5) Cool and variated soft-rock.

Score: 6,88
