This american hardrockband was lead by former Britny Fox-vocalist Dean Davidson and also included Cinderella-guitarrist Rick Cristini. The music on this album has more of a rough rock'n'roll-feel to it, in the vein of Quireboys and Company Of Wolves. There are some good songs on it and the overall quality is quite good but don't have anything that sticks out compared to the more known bands of the time and and style. Also they were drowned by the grunge-era that just was about to explode. This was the only album by Blackeyed Susan.

Dean Davidson released the album Drive My Karma in 2008.

3 years after their last album Axl Rose and his companions returned with a blast with 2 double albums and this is the "first" one, but the 2 albums were released at the same time in september 1991. It marks a change in the band's music since other members than Rose sang on some songs, they included longer songs and they got inspiration from other kinds of music than hard rock which can clearly be heard throughout the album, and I think it adds to the sheer quality to many of the songs. With 76 minutes of music it may seem like too much but this album never gets dull or boring. A great party album still in 2013!

Matt Sorum from The Cult replaced Steven Adler on the album because of Adler's drug problems.

The album has sold 5,5 million copies!!

1)Right next door to hell (8,0) Kick ass kick start!

2)Dust'n'bones (7,5)

3)Live and let die (7,0) Paul McCartney-cover.

4)Don't cry (9,0) Wonderful ballad and one of GNR's most classical songs that still rock!

5)Perfect crime (8,0) High octane rock'n'roll.

6)You ain't the first (6,0) Acoustic Stradlin-song.

7)Bad obsession (8,5) Good and variated heavy hardrocker including harmonica.

8)Back off bitch (8,0) Rock'n'roll!

9)Double talkin' jive (6,0) Strange rocker with acoustic ending.

10)November rain (8,5) A 9-minute rock classic by Rose. A powerful ballad!

11)The garden (7,5) Featuring Alice Cooper.

12)Garden of Eden (7,0) Full tilt rock'n'roll chaos!

13)Don't damn me (9,0) An absolutely grat hardrock song! This albunm never gets boring, that's for sure!

14)Bad apples (8,0)

15)Dead horse (7,5)

16)Coma (6,5) 10-minute strange riff and talked vocal-song to end the album.

After the great succsess of her lastest album Bodyrock in 1989, Aaron released this album in the typical vein och the early 90's at the same time grunge took over the rock world. Only in her native Canada did it reach any charts. It's an album with some ridicoulus lyrics and photos, it's heavy hardrock with big choirs, strong melodies and also with horns. It sounds dated and not very fun to listen to today. We had heard this too many times already in 1991. Also the songs are not very good but listenable.

Cult album from Czech Republic black metal band with influences from Mercyful Fate and Celtic Frost. Terrible drum sound and an overall satanic evil sound but is it really black metal? They have a very unique, progressive and variated style but not that complicated that it hurts so I would rather call this heavy metal than black metal. Nice amateurish cover. A very popular album among metal reviwers but I don't find it THAT good. It's ok, nothing more.

1)Intro (-) Nice piano/rain intro.

2)Casilda's song (7,0)

3)The temple in the underworld (6,0)

4)Aposipenis (6,0)

10)My name... (7,0) Nice acoustic.

11)My deep mystery (6,5)

In the middle and end of the 90's this kind of melodic hardrock was totally out of fashion. Nightranger was among the very few bands that kept on doing this kind of music even if some of the songs on this album are halfboring in the vein of many of the 80's "hairbands" that kept on releasing music in the 90's. On the american version of this album the song "Crazy World" is missing.

1)Sign of the times (9,0) A damn good rocker with energy, a strong refrain and superb playing!

2)Jane's interlude (-)

3)Panic in Jane (6,5) Midtempo acoustic and electric mish-mash with a good refrain.

4)Don't ask me why (6,0)

5)Kong (6,0) Acoustic and not very fun even though there's a good refrain and it's groovy.

6)Mother mayhem (6,0)

7)Soul survivor (7,5) A good soft rocker with yet another catchy refrain.

8)Sea of love (7,0) At last a rocker.

9)Crazy world (5,5) Back to mediocrity.

10)Piece sign (6,0)

11)When I call on you (6,0)

12)Revelation (7,0)

In my musicblogg there ain't many albums from the 90's. Why? Well, bacause there weren't many albums to write about, at least not from the years 1992-1998. Grunge ruled the world of rockmusic and the music I grew up listening to were all of a sudden just...not there. I have nothing against grunge as such, I listened to quite a lot of those bands. But there was also something else happening in the rockworld; the dark and heavy Stoner rockbands became popular and i liked some of them, ecspecially Kyuss 3rd album Welcome to Sky Valley wich is a punch right in the face. The album is so alive even though it's so dark and mysterious. I just can't sit still to this music, I just have to play airguitar and headbang! The band disbanded in 1995 but reformed in 2011 with the exception of Josh Homme.

Josh Homme is also a founder of the wellknown band Queens Of The Stone Age and plays in the band since 1997. He is also in the band Them Crocked Vultures wich also features John Paul Jones (ex.Led Zeppelin) and Dave Grohl (ex.Nirvana and currently Foo Fighters).

This is the 1st Kyuss-album to feature Scott Reeder. He replaced Nick Oliveri who played on the two previous albums.

Brant Bjork played in the stoner rockband Fu Manchu between 1997 and 2002.

1)Gardenia (8,5) Was there anything like this in 1994? Extremely dark sound and guitar tuned low like hell. Slow but still rocking and the bass pounding while the guitarist plays wah-wah. For me, stonerrock was born with this song and I wanted to hear more. Damn good!

2)Asteroid (7,0) The song expodes into a heavy riff and then goes into a psychotic mess and then starts over again with an chaotic ending.

3)Supa scoopa and might scoop. (8,0) Not much singing in the song, mainly heavy riffing and cool bass- and drumpounding.

4)100 0 (8,5) Short, heavy and it rocks like hell!

5)Space cadet (8,0) Superb acoustic guitarplaying partly with the drums keeping a slow pace.

6)Demon cleaner (7,0)

7)Odyssey (9,0) Another killer song! Frenzy and heavy and a calm middlesection builds up the end part in a great way.

8)Conan troutman (8,0) Like song 4. but too short.

9)N.O. (7,5)

10) Whitewater (8,0) 8 minutes of enjoyment. Typical Kyuss-song but with a long Led Zeppelin/Doors jam/dope-part.

Score: 7,95

The Californian band Circus Of Power was founded in 1986 and was heavy on motorbikes, tattoos and leather and has a sleazefeel to their music. Their 1st album from 1990 is a hardrockclassic but this album, thier last, hasn't the quality of that album. There are some songs that are getting towards the raw heaviness and melodic qualities of the past but I don't feel like playing this album anymore since there are so many better ones. Also 1993 was really the wrong year to release a hardrockalbum. The rockworld was all about grunge then.

Alex Mitchell has recorded with a few other bands since Circus Of Power disbanded and is also a author and writer.

Victor Indrizzio has after Circus Of Power recorded and worked with Depeche Mode, Queens Of The Stone Age, Chris Cornell, Beck, Willie Nelson, Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morisette among many others.

1)Swamp devil (7,0)

2)Evil woman (7,0) Typical heavy, slow and sleazy Circus Of Power.

3)Heaven and hell (6,5)  Additional vocals and guitars by Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains.

4)Circles (7,0)

5)Poison girl (7,0)

6)Shine (5,0) Co-vocals by Ian Astbury from The Cult.

7)Dreams tonight (6,0)

8)Mama tequila (6,5)

9)Black roses (7,5)

10)Waitin' for the wizard (6,5)

11)Outta my head (6,5)

12)Slip away (6,0)

Score: 6,54
