This is the 1st album from the english band Yes since 2001. It is also the 1st album to feature the canadian singer Benoit David after the departure of original and longtime Yes-frontman Jon Anderson due to Jon's ill health. David has for 10 years been a member of the Yes-tribute band Close To The Edge and is a member of the band Mystery. David's singing in Yes is a copy of Jon Anderson's.

This album is very calm and almost poppy compared to previous Yes-albums, which have included some heavier and more progressive music. There is very litte progressive music on this album, it focuses more on popish melody. That does this album quite onehanded and almost boring. Here and there there are some good melodies and refrains that is enjoyable but I would not buy this album. The foldout cover is really nice with its fantastic drawings of naturelandscapes.

1)Fly from here-Overture (7,5) A short intro that promises much.

2)Fly from here Pt.1: We can fly (6,0) Very light melodic poppy rockmusic.

3)Fly from here Pt.2: Sad night at the airfield (8,0) Wonderful acoustic intro to a sensitive and very melodic ballad.

4)Fly from here Pt.3: Madman at the screens (7,0) Pop/rock with some progressive elements.

5)Fly from here Pt.4: Bumpy ride (5,0) 2 minute Nintendogame-song that goes back to Pt.4

6)Fly from here Pt.5: We can fly reprise (6,5) 2 minute continuation of Pt.1

7)The man you always wanted me to be (4,0) This is not very fun...

8)Life on a film set (7,0) Mystic and pompous beginning and then poppy mixed with progressive weird rhythms.

9)Hour of need (6,0) Acoustic. Steve Howe plays excellent like always.

10)Solitaire (8,0) Only Howes guitarplaying in a classical way. Very nice. He really is one of the best guitarplayiers I have ever heard. Such technique and feeling!

11)Into the storm (6,0)

Hovet is an icestadium in Stockholm, laying just beside The Globe Arena. In the 80's me and friends visited it often to watch conserts with hardrockbands popular at the time.

Opening act was Graveyard, a swedish band playing 70's style psycho hardrock. Their image is a little too much 70's since they have the hair and clothes that was popular in those days. It doesn't feel...real. Their 30 minutes was okey, they rocked away and the more mellower parts in the music is needed so that it doens't get to messy. This was the 2nd time I saw them live.

Then it was time for Deep Purple with a symphony orchestra. I saw them live in 2005 or something at the Swedenr Rock Festival and it was among the best conserts I have witnessed. The orchestra made the music more powerful and heavy and they played most of the well known DP-songs you could want to hear. Unfortunately Ian Gillan's voice is not as good as it has been and I suppose that is why they did not play Child in time. There was a little too much soloplaying by Don Airey on the keyboards but the other solos suited well into the set. Although I don't get why drumsolos have to be so boring... The solo by a saxplayer from the orchestra was fun and also the violin-guitarduell. Steve Morse, guitars and Roger Glover was in a good mood and Ian Paice on the drums did his job. The concert lasted for over two hours and was worth the money!

The Glory Bells (or Glory Bells Band) was founded in 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden. This is their 2nd album which was also released in countries like Japan and Germany. I like the amateurish painted cover, typical for small record labels in the 80's and the music is pure heavy metal with a potential thanks to good songwriting towards the progressive area and very unike and strong vocals. They did not have any hits, which probably made it difficult to hit the main street. They also had big problems with their record company, which in the end led to the break up of the band in 1985.

Glory North unfortunately died in 2008.

Miguel Santana is a troubadour.

Mats Andersson is still a musician and produces music for commersials and TV-series.

Franco Santunione played in Electric Boys 1988-1992 and released two albums with them. He has made a comeback with the band and they realeased an album in 2011.

Peter Udd played in the swedish progband Råg i Ryggen in the 70's and they released an album in 1975. In the early 80's he played in Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force.

1)Flight back home (8,5) Damn good, energic and powerful metal!

2)Wardrummer (7,0) An okey hardrocksong. A simple and nice riff but the ending is maybe not the best.

3)Big thunder (7,5) I like the variation in the songs. This stomping metaller is no exception.

4)My life (4,0) A ballad but North's voice doesn't fit a ballad with saxophone... Not very good. Cheesy and way too long.

5)After twelve (7,5) True heavy metal with guitarsolos and driving rhythm. Fortunately they don't let the singing take too much space.

6)Indian rainsong (8,0) A nice heavy and slow song containing some qualilty songwriting.

7)Sweet Irene (6,5) Midtempo song that is quite boring with stupid high-pitch singing/screaming.

8)Five foxes (6,5)

9)In the attic (5,0) They saved the leftovers to the end of the album it seems. Embarrising song with a pointless saxophonesolo.

Score: 6,72

This band from Finland was founded in 1998 and features Taneli Jarva who quit the more known depression metal band Sentenced from Oulu in 1995. They play doomladen heavy metal with whiskyvocals and the songs are quite good but I'd like to hear more solos and variation. It just goes on and on once the songs starts. Jarva's vocals is more or less a copy of Glenn Danzig's but I like it anyway because it suits the music.

1)Zero providence (intro) (-)

2)Southern scars and curse (7,0)

3)Malabarista (there will be blood) (7,5)

4)Bones'n'thangs (7,0)

5)Misfortune (in the year of rotten luck) (7,0)

6)The beast is a riddle (7,0)

7)Bipolar meltdown (7,5)

8)No parole (7,5)

9)Ghost brothel (7,5)

10)Until we sail (7,5)

11)Vin mariani (7,0)

12)Joke's over (7,5)

13)Heavy downer (ex veto suscepto) (5,0)

This is AC/DC's international debutalbum. It contains songs from their two Australian only released albums T.N.T and High Voltage, both released in 1975. The album sold 3 million copies in the USA and was a major breakthrough for the band and is still in 2012, after 38 years, one of the most popular hard rock-bands in the world, outselling stadiums on world tours. This album was something new when it first came out; rough, loud and unpolished bluesbased no frills rock'n'roll with a guitarist in school uniform and an incredibly charasmeristic lead singer. Some of the songs are really really good but there also is some lower points where there seems to be some lack of ideas.

Bon Scott was born i Scotland but moved to Australia when he was 6. He recorded with The Valentines and later with Freternity and with that band played opening slots for Status Quo and Geordie in UK, but then they had changed their name to Fang. Strangely enough the lead singer for Geordie, Brian Johnson, would be the one who replaced Scott in AC/DC after his death in 1980.

Angus and Malcolm Young was also born in Scotland and moved to Australia in 1963.

1)It's a long way to the top (If you wanna rock'n'roll) (7,5) Midtempo, sweaty heavy rocker including bag-pipes played by Scott.

2)Rock'n'roll singer (9,0) Hardrock with deep roots in american blues in the style of heavy Chicago-blues. Simple cool riff, driving bass and trememdous singing by Scott. Superb song!

3)The jack (7,5) Slow and bluesy heavy song about a certain disease you can get from having sex with the wrong woman... Wonderful booing at the end, humour!

4)Live wire (8,5) A wonderful rocker! It's incredible that it's possible to make such good songs with such easy and simple playing! They really were one of a kind.

5)T.N.T.  (7,5) One of the most wellknown hardrocksongs ever. And it's a good one. Heavy bluesrocker and a fistpumping refrain.

6)Can I sit next to you girl (6,0) Unfortunately the B-side of the album does'nt live up to the A-side. This song is not very uplifting compared to the other songs. It's chewy like gum.

7)Little lover (5,5) A boring slow blues.

8)She's got balls (7,0) A heavy blues that, like here and there, reminds of ZZ Top.

9)High voltage (7,0) Unpolished hardrock. It gets a little too unpolished here and there. An okey song but nothing special.

Score: 7,28

Symphonic power metal by the band Rhapsody's (later re-named Rhapsody Of Fire in 2006) -member Luca Turilli from Italy. All the other members are from Germany.

Olaf Hayer has released 3 albums with Dionysus.

Sascha Paeth has played with many heavy metal-bands such as; Heavens Gate, Angra, Gamma Ray, Aina, Kamelot, Epica, Shaman, Edguy and Avantasia.

Miro has played with Aina, Avantasia, Brainstorm, Kamelot, Luca Turilli, Shaaman and Thalion.

Robert Hunecke-Rizzo has played with Kamelot, Aina and Heavens Gate.

1)Aenigma (-) Impressive intro!

2)War of the universe (7,5) Incredibly pompous powermetal with double bassdrum all through. Good melody and singing including choir.

3)Rider of the astral fire (8,0) Like the first song but with even more power and melodic singing.

4)Zaephyr skies' theme (8,0) A sad and balladish short song with vocals by Amanda Sommerville and choir and, it seems, like an whole orchestra. Very nice.

5)The age of mystic ice (7,0) Mystic ice? As always the titles of Turillis songs are ridicioulus. More powermetal in the style of the other songs. It's beginning to get to much of the same thing all over again..

6)Prince of the starlight (7,0) ...and another one. The songs also have the same length.

7)Timeless oceans (7,0) A mystic and sweet kind of a ballad. Bombastic end.

8)Demon heart (7,5) Turilli himself describes this as "symphonic cosmic metal". Another good pompous power metaller but I need more variation in the tempo even if there is some nice breaks here and there.

9)New century's tarantella (7,0) Nice intro with Peruvian flute and then accordion, and a middletempo song at last!

10)Prophet of the last eclipse (9,0) 11-minute epic and powerful power metal with a lot of interesting sounds, playing and breaks. Really good arrangement and THIS is the way Luca Turilli-songs should sound like! Impressive!
