This is the swedish popartist Harpo's 4th album. It consists of pop and light rock inspired by the popular music at the time and that also means those terrible disco wahwah-guitars that was popular then. There's a lot of humour in Harpo's lyrics and music and on this album some of the swedish pop- and rockelite-musicians of the time contributes with their playing. But it does not help much. There are a couple of listanable songs but not much more. The album reached nr. 4 on the swedish charts.

1)Horoscope (6,0)

2)My bubblegum gun (5,0)

3)Secret silver box (6,5)

This was the 5th album from and the 3rd and last to feature singer Mike Murphy. It peaked at nr. 74 on the Billboard-list. At this time this american band sounded like many others in the melodic rock/hardrock-vein that was popular at the time; it's simple riffs and good melodic songs. They did not have anything that separated them from other bands but this album is good enough but also includes some weaker moments. There would be better times to come for this band!

1)Reelin' (8,0) Heavy southern-rock shuffle. It rocks!

2)Headed for a fall (7,5) Melodic rock in Outlaws-style.

3)River of life (7,0) A good calmer rocksong. Sounds a bit like 70's band Dragonfly.

4)Out of control (8,0) Rock'n'roll!

5)You better realize (4,5) Boring slow rock-shuffle.

6)Gambler (7,0)

7)Candalera (7,0)

8)Lies (7,0)

9)Dance (6,5)

10)Dream weaver (7,0)

Score: 6,95

As half of the 80’s pop duo, Naked Eyes, Rob Fisher was responsible for a couple of the most memorable hits from the classic MTV generation.  Fisher played keyboards and wrote songs for the group which included singer, Pete Bryne.  Their 1983 cover of Burt Bacharach’s “Always Something There To Remind Me” was a Top 10 hit in the U.S., while their follow-up single, “Promises Promises” reached #11 on the charts.  Following the 1985 break up of Naked Eyes, formed another duo, this time with Simon Climie.  As Climie Fisher, they scored a moderate his with “Love Changes Everything” in 1987.  When the band dissolved in 1990, Fisher basically left the business.  He died on August 25, 1999, following surgery for bowel cancer.  He was just 42.

This is the british popduo's 2nd and last album. While their debut had great success in many countries this one peaked at 35 in the UK, 36 in Sweden and as good as 6 in South Africa. This is soft west coast pop-rock with soulful whispered Dare-like vocals and quite monotone and boring song but I don't suffer listening to it. I liked the 1st album and the fact that there are real instruments played all through.

After the band broke up Rob Fisher was a songwriter for Rick Astley's albums in 1991 and 1993 but died of cancer in 1999. He was 43.

Simon Climie released an soloalbum in 1992 and worked with former Doobie Brothers member Michael McDonald in his Motown-albums. He also produced American Idol-winner Taylor Hicks 2009 album.

1)Facts of love (6,5)

2)Fire on the ocean (5,5)

3)It's not supposed to be that way (5,0)

4)Hold on through the night (5,5)

5)Buried treasure (3,0)

6)Power of the dream world (5,0)

7)The best part of living (5,5)

8)Coming in for the kill (6,0)

9)Don't mess around (6,5)

10)You keep me coming back for more (5,5)

11)Memories (if I could relive your love) (5,5)

This is part one of a double album that was recorded at the same time but released with time apart. It's the 1st album to feature Zach Cooper on bass replacing longtime member Michael Todd who had been charged for armed robbery in 2011. Also drummer Chris Pennie who had played with the band since 2007 quit and was replaced by former drummer Josh Eppard. Eppard had not played with the band since 2005.

I relly love the cover which suits the mystique and progressive pop, soul, rock and hardrock that this bands stands for. It's quite easylistening even though it's complicated and difficult music. They manage to get it together somehow. The record reached nr. 5 on the Billboard charts in the USA.

1)The hollow (-) Intro.

2)Key entity extraction I: Domino the destitute (8,5) Impressive progressive hardrock the way it should be made.

3)The afterman (5,0) Boring afternoon radiomusic.

4)Mothers of men (8,5) Easy-listening but damn good hardrock!

5)Goodnight fair lady (7,0) Very very much Thin Lizzy about this straight rocker.
6)Key entity extraction II: Holly wood the cracked (7,5)

7)Key entity extraction III: Vic the butcher (6,5) A bit too noisy.

8)Key entity extraction IV: Evagria the faithful (7,5) Some kind of ballad in progressive version.

9)Subtraction (4,0) Simple computer-ballad.

Score: 6,81

Death-metalband from the Netherlands with their 8th album. The last came in 2009 and during this time singer van Drunen (who sang in Pestilence in the 1980's) recorded and album with the all-star death metalband Hail Of Bullets in 2010.

This is old-school death, which means powerful, heavy, slow and fast, insane growl and clear and hearable instruments playing. This is as far as I go when it comes to heavy music. I like superheavy riffing and pounding drums and old school death has just that. Asphyx makes it well enough but I'd like better songs. It tends to get a bit boring and the growl isn't the best I've heard but works good in the faster songs.

1)Into the timewastes (8,0)

2)Deathhammer (7,0)

3)Minefield (5,0)

4)Of days when blades turned blunt (6,5)

5)Der landser (6,0)

6)Reign of the brute (6,5)

7)The flood (6,0)

8)We doom you to death (5,5)

9)Despa crabro (6,0)

10)As the magma mammoth rises (4,5)

Score: 6,10

"Blue Swede" -Björn Skifs had a successful career in the 1970's and this album with songs sang in english is one in a string of his albums released in the same decade. It's very much pop and light rock of it's time when it comes to production, sound and image. Disco was popular and most artists tried to sound more like disco which resulted in a sound that sound very dated today. So also in this case. Some songs are really terrible...

1)La booga rooga (6,5)

2)You better run (6,5)

3)Do you wanna dance? (4,0)

4)Now and then (5,0)

5)Tarantula (2,0)

6)Julie girl (4,0)

7)Firefly (3,0)

8)Shimmie doo wah sae (2,0)

9)Lady (4,0)

10)Can't stop now (3,5)

11)Slow down (6,0)

12)Part time love (5,0)

This albums release is both joyful and sad. Joyful because that at age of 83 he released an album worth of good material. Sad beacause it's probably his last album, his 42nd. The album is very stripped down, suiting BB perfect and with no guestartists as on previous albums. The band is of course great and tight and the songs are mostly covers of old bluessongs listed below. King recieved a Grammy for Best traditional blues album for this album and he was worth it that's for sure. Buy this album and enjoy some great music that's ALIVE!

1)See that my grave is kept clean (Blind Lemon Jefferson) (7,0)

2)I get so weary  (T-Bone Walker) (6,0)

3)Get these blues off me (8,5)

4)How many more years (Chester Burnett) (8,0)

5)Waiting for your call (T-Bone Walker) (7,5)

6)My love is down (Lonnie Johnson) (7,0)

7)The world gone wrong (Mississippi Sheiks) (6,5)

8)Blues before sunrise (John Lee Hooker) (7,0)

9)Midnight blues (7,5)

10)Backwater blues (Big Bill Broonzy) (8,0)

11)Sitting on top of the world (7,5)

12)Tomorrow night (Lonnie Johnson) (7,0)

Score: 7,29
