The 9th Judas Priest-album was recorded in Ibiza, Spain and was a continuation of the heavy, short metalsongs that was released on the former album Screaming For Vengeance from 1982 and reached one position higher (18) on the US charts than S.F.V The album reached 19 on the UK charts and nr. 2 on the Swedish charts, 12 in Switzerland and 17 in Norway.
This album has only good songs and even though they sometimes recorded more melodic songs during this period they kept on doing great songs.
1)Freewheel burning (9,0) A tremendous opener! Full force and twinguitarssoloing.
2)Jawbreaker (8,5) Continuing the bonecrushing pounding rhythms.
3)Rock hard ride free (8,0) Melodic and quite slow but it's good anyway.
4)The sentinel (8,0) Midtempo rocker.
5)Love bites (7,5) Chanting and heavy riffing with synthdrums.
6)Eat me alive (8,5) Another superheavy, fast and chaotic metaller.
7)Some heads are gonna roll (8,0) More melodic and good and powerful.
8)Night comes down (7,5) Slow, heavy and melodic.
9)Heavy duty (8,0) Singalong, heavy drum chantsong.
10)Defenders of the faith (-) Heavy Duty goes into this outtro.
