272) Little Richard-Here's 1957

Av Mikael Persson - 30 september 2015 14:31

This is the absolutely 1st album from, already then, charttopper howling rock'n'roll maniac Little Richard. This album reached nr. 13 and Little Richard had had 6 top 40-hits before the album was released. This is a mix of rockabilly, blues, soul and old-time orchestra music. The songs are very good all through, not many artists could match the quality and energy of Little Richards songs. He influenced pop- and rockmusic for all time to come.

Guitarrist Edgar Blachard had played with Professor Longhair, Big Joe Turner, Ray Charles among others. He died in 1972, only 48 years old. Bassist Frank Fields had played with Fats Domino, Professor Longhair and Smiley Lewis among others. He died in 2005, 91 year old. Drummer Earl Palmer played with many many many artist during a 60-yearcarrier in rockmusic and is probably the person who first used the word "funky". He died in 2008, 83 years of age. Saxophonist Lee Allen had plaeyd with Paul Gayten, Dave Bartholomew, Fats Domino and Lloyd Price. He died in 1994, 58 years old. The other saxophonist Alvin Tyler had also played with Dave Bartholomew and Fats Domino and died in 1998, 72 years of age, leaving Little Richard as the only surviving member of he's old debut-band.

Album number two from this incredible supergroup that made some unforgettable music in the 1980's! This is again melodic hardrock with a lot of keyboards and with impressing melodic, orchestral and powerful songs with fantastic vocals. A mus...
