255) Kadavar-Kadavar 2012

Av Mikael Persson - 6 november 2014 17:15

Nowadays there ain't many German bands in the harder and heavier part of the music business that comes through to the bigger masses, Kadavar from Berlin is one exception. In the, for some years now, ongoing RRRM (Retro Rock Revivalist Movement) this band stands as one of the better but oh so copied their music and style is. If you are into this genre it's enough to have records by, say 5, bands and you have it covered up. Kadavar could happen to be among those 5 bands because this is heavy, stoner, psychadelic in a small sence and very retro in a good way since they have quite good songs to compete with.

1)All our thoughts (8,5) Damn good 70's style heavy-riffing hardrock!

2)Black sun (7,0)

3)Forgotten past (7,0)

4)Goddess of dawn (7,0) The former song and this one seem to get a bit messy but are still good.

5)Creature of the demon (6,0)

6)Purple sage (2,5) Why? Totally meaningless chaos-song that just goes on and on for 7 minutes.

Score: 6,33

Christoph "Lupus" Lindemann-vocals and guitars (b.1986)

Philip "Mammut" Lippitz-bass

Christoph "Tiger" Bartelt-drums

8 years into their albumreleasingcareer J. Geils Band released another album worth of rockin' and rollin' songs but this time they took a much calmer and poppier path and not all the songs are top class anymore. It seemes like they went out ...

This american doom-band has an interesting history. Formed as an side-project by Pentagram's Bobby Liebling and Geof O'Keefe and was completed with Randy Palmer as far back as 1973-74 when they also recorded some material which did not get r...

Another one of my favorite bands from the 1980's and 90's. I have always loved thier simple and bluesy hardrocksongs with singer Jack Russell's clear and sensetive vocals. This, their 3rd album is one of the highlights of the band's career a...
