114) Jimmie Vaughan-Plays More Blues, Ballads And Favorites 2011

Av Mikael Persson - 11 april 2012 12:31

A year after his latest album that was named almost the same as this one, with the exeption of the word "more" in the title, Jimmie continues his mix of 50's style rock and rockabilly, blues and so on. He is still influenced by his time with the Fabolous Thunderbirds and if you liked the Fab's, you'll like this record. There are some really good songs on this album but 16 songs gets too much for me. Many of the songs sound very alike and I don't see the point in having so many songs on an album since it's difficult too keep the intrest up the whole album through. Many of the songs are also too short, they just stop very abruptly when there would be posibilities too do more with them. But it's an okey album for sure!

Greg Piccolo and Doug James has played with Roomful Of Blues.

Album number two from this incredible supergroup that made some unforgettable music in the 1980's! This is again melodic hardrock with a lot of keyboards and with impressing melodic, orchestral and powerful songs with fantastic vocals. A mus...

8 years into their albumreleasingcareer J. Geils Band released another album worth of rockin' and rollin' songs but this time they took a much calmer and poppier path and not all the songs are top class anymore. It seemes like they went out ...

This american doom-band has an interesting history. Formed as an side-project by Pentagram's Bobby Liebling and Geof O'Keefe and was completed with Randy Palmer as far back as 1973-74 when they also recorded some material which did not get r...

Another one of my favorite bands from the 1980's and 90's. I have always loved thier simple and bluesy hardrocksongs with singer Jack Russell's clear and sensetive vocals. This, their 3rd album is one of the highlights of the band's career a...
